Most airlines have a baggage requirement that each piece must weigh 50 pounds or less. For most people, I’m sure the stress comes with the return trip, hoping all their souvenirs can make it in their suitcases. Not for me.
My suitcase is always at least ten pounds lighter on the return trip than it is on the departure. Why, you may ask? Because I am a freak. I insist on bringing things that aren’t necessary, things that just take up space in my suitcase. Would you expect anything less?
I decided I was going to make goodie bags for each of my fellow vacationites. I got the idea from my mother. Typically I like to blame her for all of my issues, but this is something I can thank her for (Thanks Mom!). One of my best childhood memories was a trip to the Virgin Islands with my family. Before I was told about the trip, my mom decided to do something fun. Valentine’s day was coming, so she put together a great gift basket, filled with all kinds of vacation stuff (suits, beach toys, and most importantly: A (large) Troll wearing snorkel gear). This is how she told me about the trip, I still remember it to this day.
So in true “like-mother, like-daughter” fashion, here are some great goodie bag ideas for vacation!
Vacation Goodie Bag Ideas
Beach bag to hold everything!
The latest Bestsellers (“The Girl on the Train” was good!)
Magazines
Sunscreen/SPF Chapstick
Sunglasses
Treats!
Fun T-shirt / Bathing Suit
Pool floats / Beach Balls / Goggles
Fun drink straws / Fun themed drinking glass
Beer Koozies!
I think my gift bags went over pretty well, I’ll get around to posting some of the photos from the trip soon!

i have been known to pack entire suitcases just full of goodies for the people we visit and our kids!
